The executive meeting of the state council on August 24 focused on only one topic: the deployment of measures to promote the improvement of standards and quality of consumer goods, and the increase of effective supply of "made in China" to meet the needs of consumption upgrading. So much for this.
Promoting a "quality revolution" in "made in China" is closely related to upgrading the Chinese economy and moving it towards the middle and high end. The decision follows a decision by the state council's standing committee on April 6 to implement the plan on standardization and quality improvement in the equipment manufacturing industry to lead the "made in China" upgrade. The key areas identified are robotics, advanced rail transit equipment, agricultural machinery, high-performance medical equipment, etc. The logic can be understood as "homeopathy", that is, from the equipment, to solve the problem of "what to make".
The logic of the regular meeting can be understood as "reverse force", that is, starting from the end of consumer goods, to solve the "why" problem. Why? Consumer goods are, of course, fundamentally made to meet the needs of consumers. At this stage of development, a considerable number of middle-income groups have emerged in China, and their consumption demand has been upgraded from the simple stage of food and clothing in the past to the stage of pursuing quality now. To produce a large number of products that consumers are willing to buy and accept, the whole manufacturing industry is bound to be required to follow up accordingly.
"Homeopathy" and "inverted force" mean that "made in China" needs to complete a "quality revolution". "MadeinChina," or "MadeinChina," can no longer be a synonym for low - and mid-range and cheap. "Made in China" has never rejected or given up the concept of "high quality".
In historical context, at the beginning of the reform and opening up in the 1980s, a large number of foreign consumer goods, from watches to home appliances to automobiles, entered the Chinese market. It is in this "open eyes to see the world" that domestic goods gradually realized import substitution after hard experience, occupied most of the domestic market, and began to sell globally. However, as mentioned above, China is now entering a new stage of development, and more and more consumers have higher demand, while the quality of many domestic products has not kept up. At the same time, in the product innovation, domestic goods are also more than can be said. So it is not surprising that a lot of consumer goods are imported, and even that as much as 1.5 trillion yuan a year is spent outside China.
Obviously, not comprehensively improving the standards and quality of consumer goods, on the one hand, will reduce consumer trust, directly affect the domestic consumer market; On the other hand, it will weaken the international competitiveness of Chinese products and affect the export trade. The prime minister even described the situation as "urgent".
To this end, the prime minister to promote "made in China" to complete a "quality revolution", as a main line, almost through to every aspect of economic work. The Wednesday presided only arrange such an issue that closely around the consumption demand, food, daily life is closely linked with the masses, household appliances, consumer electronics, decoration, clothing, cosmetics and daily-use chemicals, women's and children's elderly and the disabled supplies, stationery and sports leisure products such as general consumer products, achieve quality improvement. Combined with the regular meeting on April 6, the jigsaw puzzle of "made in China" was more complete with sophisticated equipment manufacturing and consumer goods close to people's livelihood. As the premier pointed out earlier, "made in China 2025" must not only focus on equipment, but also upgrade the whole industry chain.
After the completion of the "made in China" this "quality revolution", after all, on what? There is no doubt that this is the spirit of entrepreneurship and craftsmanship that premier li keqiang has emphasized time and again. With the former, there is the continuous innovation of the system; Have the latter, just have the product excelsior.
